Explore a visual language for Socialism in America that gives hope, compels action, and unites Americans in search for a better future.
Result
A logo mark and visual language inspired by the idea of rising: rising hope and the rising action of the American people. Taking inspiration from the shape language of the early Russian constructivists, and pairing it with gradient bursts, a softening touch embodying hope and light.
Approach
The concept of socialism is loaded with negative connotations in America, due largely to intentional actions of those in positions of power and general misinformation given to the American people. This visual study explored themes related to the Russian Constructivists, as well as more contemporary themes in type and mark. El Lissitzky spoke on the power of shape and symbol to embody the hope for a stronger future:
